Torleif Ander is recognized as one of the most successful and influential flutists in Sweden. After finishing his studies at The Norwegian State Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway, with renowned teachers Per Oien and Ornulf Gulbransen, he began an intensive career as a musician and teacher. He was appointed head of the flute department at Ingesund University College of Music in 1989 and recently at the University of Orebro in 1994. After serving as Principal Flutist in several leading orchestras in Sweden, he has now begun focusing his musical activities into chamber music and solo recitals. His tour schedule has brought him to many locations throughout Europe, the United States, Peru, Brazil, Argentina and Ecuador. His recording experiences include radio and television broadcasts as well as several recordings.
