Roderick Seed

Roderick Seed is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he won an Entrance Scholarship to study with William Bennett, OBE, Kate Hill and Patricia Morris. He has previously studied with Sebastian Bell. Roderick has appeared as soloist in many concerts at venues such as Carnegie Hall New York, St Martin in the Fields, Westminster Cathedral, St. James’s Church, Piccadilly, the BFS Convention and the Aldeburgh Festival. He recently won 1st prize in the Alexander & Buono International Flute Competition, the solo prize at the London Concerto Competition and the BFS Award at the British Flute Society Silver Jubilee Competition. He also freelances with various orchestras in London, including London Octave.
In the master class situation, he has been taught by William Bennett, Emmanuel Pahud, Jonathan Snowden, Lorna McGhee, Anna Noakes, Emily Beynon and Maxence Larrieu, where he has also worked with distinguished composers such as Jean-Michel Damase and Ian Clarke on their compositions for flute.
Roderick was the Teaching Assistant at the William Bennett International Flute Summer School 2009 and 2010 and also given classes in Oman to the Royal Muscat Philharmonic Orchestra and to students at the Liszt Academy in Budapest, Hungary.
