Jamie Baum

Jamie Baum, New York flutist, composer, recording and touring artist, and clinician, has worked with a wide range of renowned musicians as a leader and sidewoman. Receiving critical praise for three CDs as a leader, Sight Unheard on Gunther Schuller’s GM Recordings, received four stars from Down Beat as "one of the year’s most innovative projects". Her new CD Moving Forward, Standing Still will be released in 1/04 on the Omnitone label. She has also been very active giving masterclasses, clinics and workshops for the past fifteen years and has developed two very successful workshops: “A Fear-free Approach to Improvisation for the Classically-trained Musician” and “A Jazz Flute Survey/ Retrospective”.
